Error description

Enabling the Class Loader Viewer adds JVM Arguments to the
server.xml file.

genericJvmArguments="-agentlib:bboclvti"

At start-up the following JVM error can be seen:


JVMJ9TI001E Agent library bboclvti could not be opened (EDC5253S
An AMODE64 application is attempting to load an AMODE31 DLL load
module.

Local fix

Do not enable Class Loader Viewer if running 64 bit on z/OS

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When you enable the Class Loader        *
*                      Viewer Service on a 64-bit z/OS         *
*                      machine, the servant region             *
*                      fails to start.                         *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

A genericJVMArgument is added when you enable the Class Loader
Viewer service. On z/OS this argument is -agentlib:bboclvti for
31-bit and -agentlib:bbgclvti for 64-bit. This argument was
not set properly.

Problem conclusion

New code was added that will interrogate remote node for the
bit mode. Then it will set the correct option depending on the
returned value.

APAR PK99218 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.9 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
