APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
A failure may occur in the following scenario: a) an application is installed and uninstalled. b) a second application with the same name is installed. c) a module is added to the second application that has the same name as a module in the first application. Under these conditions, the following problems occur: 1) If the new module is a JAX-WS module, the JAX-WS service endpoints or clients may not appear in the administrative console. 2) If the new module is an EJB module with JAX-WS endpoints, its router module may be allowed to install on a different target than the new EJB module.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 * * Administrators and deployers of JAX-WS * * applications. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JAX-WS related problems occur when an * * application with the same name * * replaces an older application. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fixpack containing this APAR. * **************************************************************** A failure may occur in the following scenario: a) an application is installed and uninstalled. b) a second application with the same name is installed. c) a module is added to the second application that has the same name as a module in the first application. The problem is caused by obsolete annotation caching from an old application. The obsolete cache may be reused in the following scenario: (1) The first EAR is installed and then uninstalled. (2) The second EAR is installed using the exactly same application name as the first EAR. (3) a new module is added to the second application, and the new module has the same name as one of the modules in the first application.
Problem conclusion
The problem is due to an obsolete cache from the first application installation. The code has been fixed to correctly clear the obsolete cache in the above scenario. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.9.
