Closed as program error.
Error description
The class loader used by the JspBatchCompiler is not properly disposed before an attempt is made to delete files in its classpath. Previously, this was not a problem; however, class loader caching of zip files was introduced into the fix packs that have seen this issue (6.0.2.33, 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3) to improve class loader performance. With the caching enabled, the zip file is still open when the batch compiler attempts to delete it, causing an exception.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version * * 6.0.2.33, 6.1.0.23, and 7.0.0.3 and later * * users of JspBatchCompiler * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The JspBatchCompiler script might * * result in an error when running on * * Microsoft Windows Operating System. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The JspBatchCompiler script results in an error when used with an -ear.path option. For example: JSPG0186I: Saving C:\Temp\TestEAR.ear JSPG0188E: Exception encountered during save operation. org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.exception.SaveFa ilureException: IWAE0017E Unable to replace original archive: C:\Temp\TestEAR.ear at org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.impl.ArchiveImpl .cleanupAfterTempSave(ArchiveImpl.java:354) at org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.impl.ArchiveImpl .saveAsNoReopen(ArchiveImpl.java:2339) at org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.impl.ArchiveImpl .saveAs(ArchiveImpl.java:2159) at org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.impl.ArchiveImpl .save(ArchiveImpl.java:2074) at com.ibm.ws.jsp.tools.JspBatchCompiler.zipArchiveFile(JspBatchCom piler.java:614) at com.ibm.ws.jsp.tools.JspBatchCompiler.runEarCompiler(JspBatchCom piler.java:425) at com.ibm.ws.jsp.tools.JspBatchCompiler.startup(JspBatchCompiler.j ava:181) at com.ibm.ws.jsp.tools.BatchCompilerLauncher.main(BatchCompilerLau ncher.java:13) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) ...... JSPG0169I: The Batch Compiler exited with errors. This is caused by PK72252 which was introduced to improve class loading performance. When the JspBatchCompiler script runs with the -ear.path option, a zip file is extracted and cached. At the end of the compilation, the JspBatchCompiler attempts to delete the extracted zip file but it is still held by the cache. This causes the above exception.
Problem conclusion
The JspBatchCompiler script was modified not to cache the content of the zip file. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpacks 6.0.2.41, 6.1.0.31, and 7.0.0.11.
