    ****************************************************************
If a JAX-WS application has an SSL binding attached to it, the
JAX-WS code incorrectly uses the system default SSL
settings instead of using the SSL transport bindings. The
JAX-WS code is not honoring the SSL bindings. There
is no way for customers to use SSL transport bindings. This
only happens when the client is a managed client and the
client and the server are in different application servers.

Problem conclusion

  • The JAX-WS code has been updated so that it now correctly
uses the SSL transport bindings. The SSL transport bindings
now take precedence over the system default SSL settings. A
    new custom property
    com.ibm.websphere.webservices.transport.ssl.loadFromPolicyBindin
g has been created. This property can be set as either a JVM
custom property or as a web services SSL bindings custom
    property.

If the bindings are created after the fixpack or APAR is
installed, the property will be added automatically to the
bindings file, and set to true as default.

Any bindings created before the fixpack or this APAR is
installed will require the custom property be set to true to
    honor the SSL transport bingings.

If no bindings are attached to the application, the property
will be set to false as default.

For details on how to set a JVM property, refer to the article
"Java virtual machine custom properties" in the Information
Center for your WebSphere Application Server version and
    operating system.

For details on how to set a web services SSL bindings custom
property, refer to the article "SSLTransport policy and
binding properties" in the Information Center for your
WebSphere Application Server version and operating system.

This problem is fixed in WebSphere Application Server Feature
Pack for Web Services by PK99724.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
