PM00528: INSTALL FAILS BECAUSE THERE IS "-" IN THE INSTALL LOCATION OF WEBSPHERE APPLICATION SERVER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Problem :
  If client choose to augment the existing profiles during the
  time of install of featurepack ie
  -OPT PROF_augment="-profileName node -templatePath
  /apps/websphere/was61/sbx5-app-node1-ibm/profileTemplates/EJB3/d
  efault.ejb3fep"
  
  The install fails because there is "-" in the install Location
  of WebSphere Application Server and Installer takes it as
  beginning of parameter.
  
  Profile Creation Tool takes this option as :

  So this causes failure.
  

Local fix

• Please don't augment the Profile at time of install. Use
  manageprofiles.sh command or PMT Tool ( 32 bit WebSphere
  Application Server ) to augment the profiles , once the Feature
  Pack is installed.

  If there is a "-" in the install location and the profile
  augment option (-OPT PROF_augment) in the response file is
  enabled, the program regards "-" as the beginning of an
  option, and the location is split into two parts from "-",
  this will cause the profile augment failed.
  

Problem conclusion

• Only the sting with the beginning of "-" is processed as option.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 6.1.0.31.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
