Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An Activation Spec custom property * * value of '$$$$$$' is replaced by '$$' * * instead of '$$$' after variable * * expansion * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The Activation Spec custom property values are being processed twice for variable expansion. During variable expansion processing in WebSphere Application Server '$$' is replaced by '$' normally. However doing it twice will result in '$$$' being replaced by '$'. This occurs only for Activation Spec custom properties and is inconsistent with the behavior exhibited by other artifacts in WebSphere Application Server during variable expansion.
Problem conclusion
In order to prevent '$$$' from being replaced by '$' the second call to perform variable expansion for Activation Spec properties has been removed. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.9.
