Error description

In httpd.conf, the port for virtualhost is optional.
Specifying a port of "*" is the same as leaving it off.
However, WebSphere Application Server 7.0 Administrative
Console must specify a valid port.
The validation for Web Server VHost was incorrectly changed
during 7.0 development.

Server > Web servers > _webserver_ > Web server Virtual Hosts.

When creating or modifying an virtual host, the console
requires the user to enter a port field when it is not
required. Leaving it blank or specifying a * should both be
valid entries.

Problem conclusion

Code changes have been made to allow an * or an empty port
field. A blank port field will automatically be converted to a
* as this is the preferred definition.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.11.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
