APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When a message that is about 2MB in size (serialized form) is sent from a client to a messaging engine or between messaging engines, the destination messaging engine logs the following FFDC: com.ibm.wsspi.sib.core.exception.SIConnectionLostException: CWSIJ0053E at parseSegmentMiddlePayload(InboundTransmissionParser.java:825) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.InboundTransmissionParser. parse(InboundTransmissionParser.java:289) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.ConnectionReadCompleted Callback.complete(ConnectionReadCompletedCallback.java:248) at com.ibm.ws.tcp.channel.impl.AioReadCompletionListener. futureCompleted(AioReadCompletionListener.java:165) at com.ibm.io.async.AbstractAsyncFuture.invokeCallback (AbstractAsyncFuture.java:217) Exception = com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.JFapConnectionBroken Exception Source = com.ibm.ws.sib.comms.client.ProxyReceive Listener.errorOccurred probeid = 3-004-0010 com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.JFapConnectionBrokenException: CWSIJ0056E: at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.OutboundConnection. invalidateImpl(OutboundConnection.java:240) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.Connection.nonThread SafeInvalidate(Connection.java:1202) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.Connection.invalidate (Connection.java:1183) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.InboundTransmissionParser. parse(InboundTransmissionParser.java:310) at com.ibm.ws.sib.jfapchannel.impl.ConnectionReadCompleted Callback.complete(ConnectionReadCompletedCallback.java:248) at com.ibm.ws.tcp.channel.impl.AioReadCompletionListener. futureCompleted(AioReadCompletionListener.java:165) As a result the message cannot be sent. There is a 12 byte window in the size of the serialized form of the message when this problem can occur. If there is not a significant amount of data in message headers, a payload just under 2MB in size will cause the problem.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the default messaging provider for * * IBM WebSphere Application Server * * Version 6.0, Version 6.1 or Version 7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages within a 12byte size * * range, around 2MB, cannot be sent and * * the messaging engine logs an FFDC * * with a CWSIJ0053E message * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A miscalculation in the low level protocol causes the wrong number of segments to be sent. Error checking at the messaging engine detects this error and closes the connection.
Problem conclusion
The fix for this APAR corrects the miscalculation, and allows messages within the 12byte size range to be transmitted correctly. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.0.2.41, 6.1.0.31 and 7.0.0.11.
