* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Portal invalidations can      *
*                      cause performance degradation or a      *
*                      deadlock in the control and servant     *
*                      regions.                                *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

DRS uses the Object Request Broker (ORB) to communicate
between the control region and the servant regions. There are
a limited number of threads receiving incoming messages and a
deadlock can occur if a servant region communicates
back to the control region while processing an incoming
message.

Problem conclusion

The communication between the control region and servant
region has been modified to avoid the deadlock situation.

APAR PM06555 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 6.0.2.41 of WebSphere Application Server
V6.0.1.
