APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When the default mappings of JavaServer Pages (JSP) (jsp/jspx) extensions are overridden in the web.xml, the corresponding entries of jsp-config and related url-patterns are expected to be delegated to the jsp engine. This does happen when we specify our jsp engine in the servlet and servlet-mapping elements of the application descriptor.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version * * 7.0 users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Override JavaServer Pages (JSP) * * mapping * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a url-pattern is defined in the jsp-property-group of the web.xml, it is mapped to and handled by the JSP engine. There is not a way to override this mapping, however some applications need to override it so that they can handle and serve the JSP content themselves.
Problem conclusion
The JSP Container code was modified to allow the JSP mapping to be overridden. This allows the application to serve the JSP contents itself. A new WebContainer customer property needs to be set to enable the behavior provided by this APAR: com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.enableJspMappingOverride = true (default is false) Please refer to the following technote for instructions on enabling WebContainer custom properties: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rss=180&uid=swg21284395 The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 7.0.0.11 Please refer to the recommended updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
