PM08583: RESPONSE DELAY NOTICED BETWEEN PLUGIN AND APPSERVER WITH SECURED COMMUNICATION

Error description

When secured communication (SSL) is used between plugin and
Application Server, intermittently the AppServer does not read
the complete request. This causes the plugin to wait till the
ServerIOTimeout fires and resend the request to the AppServer
and get the response back. This whole process causes the end
user wait longer for the response.

*                      has large headers, is using SSL, and    *
*                      is using non-direct byte buffers        *

If a request with large headers and SSL is used, the HTTP
Channel will think it needs more data and timeout on a read
that should not happen

Problem conclusion

HTTP Channel was modified to properly reference the array
holding headers so it does not attempt an unnecessary read

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.33 and 7.0.0.13.  Please refer to the
