PM10273: CONFIG FILE NAME TOO LONG FOR WEBSERVER CAN CAUSE AN ABEND

Error description

For webservers HTTPSERVER_ZOS and IHS for WAS z/OS the user
needs to specify a path to their config file.

Currently the length for the config file name including the path
is not bounded.  Thus, any length name is accepted.  The config
file name is then appended to webserver start command arguments.

If the start command arguments are too long this will cause the
server to ABEND while starting.

For web servers HTTPSERVER_ZOS and IHS for WAS z/OS the user
needs to specify a path to their Web server Installation
location or Configuration File name in the Administrative
Console.

The length for these fields is not bounded. Thus,
any length name is accepted.  These values are used to
construct the start and stop commands.

If the command is too long this will cause the
web server to ABEND while starting.

Problem conclusion

A warning message such as "Start command cannot exceed 126
characters" will now be displayed if these fields are changed
with a value which results in the Process Definition start and
stop command being over the maximum of 126
characters.

APAR PM10273 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.13 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
