Error description

  • The JAXB 2.x specification specifies that the default binding
of xs:anyURI is java.lang.String. At runtime the type the JAXB
Unmarshaller returns when an application specifies
    xsi:type="xs:anyURI" is java.net.URI instead of
java.lang.String which is the incorrect type according to the
    specification.

    ****************************************************************
The JAXB 2.x specification specifies that the default
binding of xs:anyURI is java.lang.String. At runtime the type
the JAXB Unmarshaller returns when an application
    specifies xsi:type="xs:anyURI" is java.net.URI instead
of java.lang.String which is the incorrect type according to the
    specification.

Problem conclusion

  • In order to not affect existing applications, the new behavior
of this APAR is controlled by a JVM property.
    The property name is: mapAnyUriToString
The acceptable values are: (any value)
The default value is: (not set)
In order to get the new behavior, the system property must
be set. No value is required.
Here is a link describing how to set a JVM property:
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r1/index.jsp?
    topic=/com.ibm.websphere.base.doc/info/aes/ae/xrun_jvm.html

By default xsi:type="xs:anyURI" continues to be mapped to
java.net.URI by the IBM JAXB Unmarshaller. Setting the
"mapAnyUriToString" system property described above will
instruct the IBM JAXB Unmarshaller to map xsi:type="xs:anyURI"
    to java.lang.String.

A portion of the support for the "mapAnyUriToString" system
property was implemented in IBM Java 6 SR8. This level of Java
6 or higher is required for consistent behaviour in the IBM
JAXB runtime when the "mapAnyUriToString" system property is
    set.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.11. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
