APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When deserializing the object data placed in DistributedMap, the following error may occur, if the failing class is present in the classpath for ExtClassloader: Exception data: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/MyClass at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java(Compiled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.util.WsObjectInputStream$1.run(WsObjectInputStream.ja va(Compiled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.security.util.AccessController.doPrivileged(AccessCon troller.java(Compiled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.util.WsObjectInputStream.resolveClass(WsObjectInputSt ream.java(Inlined Compiled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.util.WsObjectInputStream.resolveClass(WsObjectInputSt ream.java(Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readNonProxyDesc(ObjectInputStream.jav a(Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readClassDesc(ObjectInputStream.java(I nlined Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readOrdinaryObject(ObjectInputStream.j ava(Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject0(ObjectInputStream.java(Com piled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.defaultReadFields(ObjectInputStream.ja va(Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readSerialData(ObjectInputStream.java( Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readOrdinaryObject(ObjectInputStream.j ava(Compiled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject0(ObjectInputStream.java(Com piled Code)) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject(ObjectInputStream.java(Comp iled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.cache.util.SerializationUtility.deserialize(Serializa tionUtility.java:99) at com.ibm.ws.cache.util.SerializationUtility.deserialize(Serializa tionUtility.java(Inlined Compiled Code)) at com.ibm.ws.cache.CacheEntry.getValue(CacheEntry.java(Compiled Code))

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server using dynamic caching replication * * or disk offload. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A NoClassDefFoundError exception can * * occur when deserializing a cache * * entry that has been replicated or * * offloaded to disk. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Cache entries are serialized prior to being replicated or offloaded to disk. The cache entry then needs to be deserialized when it is retrieved from disk or received from replication. If a class can not be found the class will be searched again after switching classloaders.
Problem conclusion
NoClassDefFoundError has been added to the list of exceptions caught during deserialization. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.0.2.43, 6.1.0.33 and 7.0.0.13.
