Application Server hangs on shutdown in z/OS

*                  Server V7.0 on z/OS platform.               *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Server failed to properly shut down.    *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
On z/OS platform servant region would failed to shut down and
needed to be terminated. When Application server was trying to
shut down timer instances were preventing it from properly
shut down.

Problem conclusion

Timers were marked as daemon. Daemon timers can be terminated
by the Java virtual machine.

APAR PM11422 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.11 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
