APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
An error in a component referred to as 'ObjectManager' is exposed by IBM WebSphere Business Events (WBE). The component is used within both IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0, and WebSphere Business Events. When a WebSphere Business Events server(WBE) is killed and restarted, some of the events stored in a ObjectManager TreeMap are not processed. The iterator on the TreeMap fails to return all objects that are in the store, when it is being used to remove objects. The number of items in the TreeMap is also reported incorrectly.
Local fix
Restart the WBE server
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the default messaging provider for * * IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0* **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An error exists in an internal * * 'ObjectManager' component of WebSphere * * Application Server, used by the * * default messaging provider * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** ObjectManager is a component that is part WebSphere Application Server, and other products such as IBM WebSphere Business Events. It provides a transactional persistent store of objects. The specific component interface of ObjectManager behaving incorrectly is a persistent TreeMap. In certain circumstances an iterator on the TreeMap might not return all objects in the map, or report an incorrect size, if an iterator is being used to both read and delete objects persisted in the store. The problem is not known to affect users of WebSphere Application Server directly, which does not use the specific interface that is affected.
Problem conclusion
The fix for this APAR updates the ObjectManager component to include the fix for the TreeMap interface, that corrects the iterator/removal logic. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.13.
