PM14502: HTTP Policy Sets may not take effect for one-way JAX-WS Web service requests

Error description

When a Web service HTTPS default Policy Set is attached on the
client, and configured with the HTTP Transport policy type in
the default binding to send a user ID and password with the
HTTP request, the provider (which requires authentication) may
appear to ignore the authentication information provided in
the request.

Client-side outbound one-way JAX-WS Web service requests are
being treated as asynchronous requests, causing unexpected
behavior from provider-side Web services.

For example, when a Web service request includes
authentication information (username and password) provided by
a Web service HTTP Policy Set, the response may be an HTTP
401 error, even though the authentication information is
correct.

Problem conclusion

The root of the problem is that the Web service runtime did
not detect a one-way request. It is changed to correctly
detect such requests.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.13.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
