Error description
When a JMS client application connects to Service Integration Bus with wait, it times out and the following errors appear in the client log: CWSIA0067E: An exception was received during the call to the method JmsMsgProducerImpl.<constructor>: com.ibm.websphere.sib.exception.SIErrorException: CWSIJ0046E: An internal error occurred.. at com.ibm.ws.sib.api.jms.impl.JmsMsgProducerImpl.<init> (JmsMsgProducerImpl.java:481)

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the default messaging provider for * * IBM WebSphere Application Server * * Version 6.1 or Version 7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CWSIJ0046E is thrown whilst one or * * more consumers are performing a * * receive() with a long timeout * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A physical network connection to a messaging engine can host many concurrent conversations (e.g. JMS sessions), each performing their own operations (requests). Each of these requests are allocated an ID while it is active. The IDs have a maximum value, after which they wrap around and old IDs are reused. It is possible for an individual request to run for a long time. Specifically, a synchronous receive with a long timeout, when no messages are available. If an individual request runs for long enough for the IDs to wrap, there is a risk that its ID will be reused by another conversation (on the same physical network connection) whilst the original request is still active. The code incorrectly deals with this situation by throwing a CWSIJ0046E when an attempt to re-use an active request ID occurs.
Problem conclusion
The fix for this APAR alters the code that allocates request IDs to handle the situation where wrapping causes an attempt to re-use an active request ID. The situation is detected and handled (by allocating a different request ID) without any exception being thrown to the application. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.35 and 7.0.0.13.
