Error description
System Admin traces do not show the Host and UserId information of the incoming SOAP request. For instance, administrators can not see where a remote request is coming from. For example, WebSphere server client had been receiving requests from an unknown remote client (wsAdmin) at random times and needed an option to determine where it was coming from. Enabling ORB traces on this system would result in performance problems and large ORB trace files. In this case, if we had requesting host/user in the traces we could have easily resolve this issue. This will increase the serviceability in debugging client issues, without requiring additional component tracing.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Add an option to capture Host and * * port information of remote SOAP * * clients from traces. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** System Admin traces do not show the Host and UserId information of the incoming SOAP request. The solution is to introduce the following JVM custom property: "com.ibm.ws.management.connector.soap.logClientInfo". We log SOAP client details in SystemOut.log, if the JVM property set to "true". It will also be added in trace.log by default with the minimum trace level, "com.ibm.ws.management.connector.soap.SOAPConnector=all"
Problem conclusion
Source code has been modified to log SOAP client details if the system property set to true. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.0.2.43, 6.1.0.35 and 7.0.0.13.
