Closed as program error.
Error description
Long Server name breaks object adapter name-length size restriction Detail: A restriction on the object adapter name-length size is Byte.MAX_VALUE. This means the name length must be less than 127 characters. The value the JTSServantManager takes to create the object adapter is a 8 character prefix + a String built up of the cellName + nodeName + serverName. This can break the restriction for long combinations of these names.
Local fix
create short serverName
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 and V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Long Server name breaks object * * adapter name-length size restriction * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A restriction on the object adapter name-length size is Byte.MAX_VALUE. This means the name length must be less than 127 characters. The value the JTSServantManager takes to create the object adapter is a 8 character prefix + a String built up of the cellName + nodeName + serverName. This can break the restriction for long combinations of these names.
Problem conclusion
A message digest algorithm has been added in the case where the name-length size is greater than Byte.MAX_VALUE. This creates a new name that is less than the restriction while maintaining uniqueness for the Adapter. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.35 and 7.0.0.13.
