APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
A leak of one object occurs each time an XA resource joins an existing transaction, the transaction is completed and the connection is not closed.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the default messaging provider for * * IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0* **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Leak of OptimizedSIXAResourceProxy * * objects in HashMap objects owned by * * MSSIXAResourceProvidingConnectionProxy * * objects * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a service integration bus network connection to a messaging engine is joined to an existing transaction branch, the XA resource object for that transaction branch is added to a HashMap on the connection. However, it is not removed from the HashMap when the transaction is committed (on the parent XA resource to which it is joined). The HashMap exists for historical reasons, as in the past the code required the ability to keep track of all transaction branches currently in flight. The code that uses the HashMap no longer exists.
Problem conclusion
The fix for this APAR removes the redundant HashMap, preventing the memory leak from occurring. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.13.
