Error description

When javax.net.ssl code receives any exception upon
getSupportedCipherSuites() call, it switches a default
SSLSocketFactory as javax.net.ssl.DefaultSSLSocketFactory which
is a dummy SSLSocketFactory class. This dummy class cannot be
used for real communication.

The correct behavior here is that getSupportedCipherSuites
method returns null instead of throwing the exception when
SSLSocketFactory is failed to initialize.

Due to an error handling code in SSLSocketFactory, after
SSLSocketFactory fails to read truststore (for example due to
incorrect password), getSupportedCiperSuites() method always
throws a NullPointerException.

When javax.net.ssl code receives any exception upon

The correct behavior here is that getSupportedCipherSuites

Problem conclusion

With this fix, getSupportedCipherSuites and
getDefaultCipherSuites methods return null instead of throwing
an exception even there is an error in SSL configuration.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.35 and 7.0.0.15.  Please refer to the
