    ****************************************************************
The problem in this APAR is specific to using a fetch plan
    (org.apache.openjpa.persistence.FetchPlan) when performing a
query (javax.persistence.Query). While the exact object
hierarchy is somewhat complex and consists of multiple
entity relationships, the basic structure of the problem is
this: A query is created to select an entity A based on a
certain criteria. When the query is created, a fetch plan is
also created for the query where the fetch plan specifies that
entity A's relationship to entity B is also selected. This
relationship is defined with a FetchType of LAZY. Entity A
and B are involved in other relationships as well which are
    necessary to recreate the problem.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been added in this fix which ensures that an
ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException is not caused when using fetch
    plans.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.15 of WebSphere Application
    Server version 7.0.0.
