Error description
Product Version: WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment edition V7.0.0.11 Operating System: Linux Problem Description: The migration from 6.0 to 7.0 is complete and successful, but the customer is not able to see all the web servers' definitions in the deployment.xml file for their applications. The WASPreUpgrade.sh: the install_VWSEAR.ear.jy script shows the below: install_VWSEAR.ear.jy:AdminApp.install(earFile,'[-nodeployejb -appname VWSEAR -createMBeansForResources -reloadEnabled -reloadInterval 3 -custom enhancedEarDisableValidation=true -MapModulesToServers [[VWS VWS.war,WEB-INF/web.xml WebSphere:cell=wasqdm1Cell01,cluster=VIScluster+WebSphere:cell=w asqdm1Cell01,node=webwasqwn1.ecorp.cat.com,server=vis-8480S] ]]') This only handles one server target.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 Migration * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Migration fails to deploy applications * * on multiple server targets if * * server targets have the same name. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Servers can be named the same, but they just need to be on a different node. For example, server1 on node1 and server1 on node2. In this example, Migration only deployed the application to server1 on node2.
Problem conclusion
Migration now checks if the node names are different even if the server names are the same. This additional check ensures that server targets with the same name are treated as different servers. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.15.
