Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server V7.0                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In the Profile Management Tool, one *
    * of the options in the 'Server Runtime *
    * Performance Tuning settings' page, is *
    * incorrectly named as 'Production'. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The Profile Management Tool has a page 'Server Runtime
    Performance Tuning settings' which allows you to select a
    performance tuning template. One of options is incorrectly
    named as 'Production'.
    The term production was found to be not reflecting the actual
    idea of the parameters that are being set and is sometimes
    misleading

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed by changing the option from
    'Production' to 'Peak'.

    Now there will be the following three choices :

    Standard:
    Uses the WebSphere Application Server default settings without
    applying any changes.

    Peak:
    Settings are optimized to yield peak performance by applying
    common performance best practices.

    Development:
    Settings are optimized to reduce hardware resource demands for
    development environments.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.15. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
