APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using nested JavaServer Page (JSP) tags, the parent
  attribute of the inner tag is not set to the tag reference of
  the outer tag.
  
  Traces show the following error:
  
  javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Error on Websphere 6.1 and
  7.0. The parent in the TagAdapter object is not set.

  A null value is incorrectly returned from the
  findAncestorWithClass(parm1, parm2) method when called from an
  inner tag file and the ancestor exists.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JSP container was modified to set the parent attribute of
  a SimpleTag to avoid this error.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix packs 6.1.0.37 and 7.0.0.17.  Please refer to the
