PM25078: ATTEMPTS TO INSTALL THE STANDALONE SIB RESOURCE ADAPTER IN THE EMBEDDED EXPRESS VERSION OF WEBSPHERE APPLICATION SERVER

Error description

The embedded express version of WebSphere Application server
does not include the SIBus resource adapter. An attempt to
install the standalone SIB resource adapter into the Embedded
Express  version of WebSphere Application Server fails with
the following exception:

*                      Resource Adapter for JMS with           *
*                      WebSphere Application Server to an      *
*                      embedded server                         *

The Resource Adapter for JMS with WebSphere Application Server
is available for use in third party application servers.
However, it might be required to enable JMS messaging
connectivity within IBM products that provide an embedded
installation of WebSphere Application Server.
Such embedded installations do not have a JMS provider, and
do not have any connectivity to the WebSphere Application
Server default messaging provider installed by default.

An attempt to install the resource adapter with the
uninstallResourceAdapter command fails with the following
exception:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: EMF2DOMAdapterImpl_ERROR_0

The exception occurs because the ra.xml parser used by
WebSphere Application Server does not allow multiple
<description> tags within a <security-permission> tag.

Problem conclusion

The fix for this APAR changes the ra.xml of the Resource
Adapter for JMS with WebSphere Application Server so that it
is compatible with embedded installations of WebSphere
Application Server. The fix needs to be installed to the
WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0 installation, before
the sibc.jms.rar file is copied from the runtimes directory to
the machine where the embedded application server is installed.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.15.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
