Error description

  • The Java2WSDL command line tool is used during application
development to produce a WSDL file from existing Java classes.
The Java2WSDL tool is also embedded within the Rapid
    Application Development (RAD) tool.

The Java2WSDL tool may produce an invalid WSDL if all of the
    following conditions are met:
    A) A class references a Java array.

    (Example: my.sample.Test references sample1.Data[])

    B) A class (perhaps the same class) in the same package
references a Java array with the same name but a different
    package.
    (Example: my.sample.Test references sample2.Data[]).

The WSDL file that is produced will incorrectly use the same
element to represent these different references. (Example: An
element named ArrayOf_12345678_Data will be used to
incorrectly represent both the sample1.Data[] and
    sample2.Data[] references).

This problem only exists fixpacks that contain APAR PK71718.
APAR PK71718 was delivered in V7.0.0.1 and V6.1.0.23.

Problem conclusion

  • Prior to this change the Java2WSDL tool creates an element
    named ArrayOf_########_name.
######## is a digit representing the referencing package.
name is the name of the component of the array.

After this change the java2WSDL tool creates an element
    named ArrayOf_########_%%%%%%%%_name.
######## is a digit representing the referencing package.
%%%%%%%% is a digit representing the referenced package.
name is the name of the component of the array.

The new naming convention guarantees that the two different
array references are represented as two different elements.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.37 and 7.0.0.15. Please refer to the
