Error description
Customers can configure the shared-library region size in BPXPRMxx in parmlib. This value applies to every address space. In 31 bit this constrains the amount of space available for the Java heap. Some customers have configured the value to be too large and get in trouble. For that reason we added message BBOO0341I. USS has now added _BPXK_DISABLE_SHLIB which can change what the value is for a particular address space. Message BBOO0341I needs to be updated print out the value affected by the _BPXK_DISABLE_SHLIB setting (field PrliShlibRgnSize from bpxyprli).

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message BBOO0341I may not indicate the * * shared library region size in use for * * the current address space. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The shared library region size is specified in BPXPRMxx in parmlib. This value applies to every address space. In 31 bit this constrains the amount of space available for the Java heap. Some customers have configured the value to be too large and get in trouble. For that reason we added message BBOO0341I to display this value on startup. UNIX System Services (USS) has introduced a new environmental property, _BPXK_DISABLE_SHLIB, which can change what the value is for a particular address space. WebSphere for z/OS Application Server needs to update diagnostic message BBOO0341I to display the value associated with the new USS environmental property _BPXK_DISABLE_SHLIB.
Problem conclusion
Code has been modified to display the shared library region size associated with the USS environmental property _BPXK_DISABLE_SHLIB in message BBOO0341I. APAR PM26377 requires changes to documentation. NOTE: Periodically, we refresh the documentation on our Web site, so the changes might have been made before you read this text. To access the latest on-line documentation, go to the product library page at: http://www.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/library The following change to the Version 7.0 Information Center will be made available in May, 2011. The description of the BBOO0341I messages that is included in the Version 7.0 Information Center will be updated to read as follows: BBOO0341I: VARIOUS RESOURCE MONITORING DATA: ({0}):({1}):():():():():():():():() Explanation: Provides various resource monitoring data retrieved from the kernel. The fields of the message are defined below: (maximum shared library region size in MB) (process level information (prli) shared library region size, if available) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) (reserved) Action: None. APAR PM26377 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.17 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0. Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
