    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Resource loads from OSGi bundles are *
    *                      inefficient                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The current resource lookup process used by WebSphere
    Application Server is inefficient. Each attempt to load a
    resource file results in searching through all of the OSGi
    bundles, even if the resource has already been loaded before.
    A caching mechanism with regard to resource files could
    provide time savings for resource-lookup-intensive activities
    like starting servers and applications.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR provides a mechanism that caches the bundles for
    each resource looked up so that subsequent lookups for the
    same resource are significantly faster.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.17. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
