Error description
Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) standalone migration from WebSphere Application Server V6.1 to WebSphere Application Server V7.0 doesn't work when the V6.1 and V7.0 nodes don't have the same name. The EventService.ear application is not migrated.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 that have Common Event * * Infrastructure (CEI) installed in their * * environment and want to migrate from * * version 6.1. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Migration of CEI from version 6.1 to * * version 7.0 fails. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The migration fails when the node name of the source WebSphere Application Server differs from the node name of the target Application Server. It looks like the CEI application didn't migrate correctly. The following error is reported: Context: Base70Profile/nodes/Base70Profile/servers/server1, name: ejb/com/ibm/events/access/EventAccess: First component in name com/ibm/events/access/EventAccess not found.
Problem conclusion
CEI migration process was enabled to migrate even when the node name differs from source to target. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.17.
