Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 and V7.0 using custom servlet * * caches and a cachespec.xml using the * * "required" attribute. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Servlet caching may fail to cache the * * output of a serlvet or JavaServer * * Page (JSP). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The caching engine obtains a reference to the servlet cache when determining whether to cache a fragment. In rare circumstances obtaining the reference fails and a fragment is not cached.
Problem conclusion
The cache lookup has been modified to ensure it will always succeed. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.39 and 7.0.0.17. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
