APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Currently WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Virtual
  Enterprise both distribute a copy of the pluginMerge script and
  install it into the same location. The scripts have different
  capabilities though and need to be uniquely named to avoid
  overwritting each other.

  *                      name conflicts with  WebSphere Virtual  *

  The webserver plugin began shipping a tool to merge its
  configuration files in fix pack 7.0.0.9. Unfortunately, the
  name and location chosen was the same as  WebSphere Virtual
  Enterprise's prior tool to merge configuration files. The
  functions are not the same between the two tools.  WebSphere
  Virtual Enterprise is more comprehensive.
  

Problem conclusion

• The webserver plugin has changed the name of its merge tool to
  pluginCfgMerge. The  WebSphere Virtual Enterprise version will
  retain the name pluginMerge.
  
  The pluginCfgMerge tool is installed in
  websphere_install_root/bin and distributed in the Application
  fix packs.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 7.0.0.17.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
