Error description

  • When exceptions occur writing to a buffer:

    [9/30/10 1:12:57:164 EDT] 000000a8 AioTCPWriteRe 1   IOException
    while processing sync write. request local: /192.168.1.100:12345
    remote: host.domain.com/192.168.0.100:12345

    [9/30/10 1:12:57:164 EDT] 000000a8 AioTCPWriteRe 1   Exception
    is: com.ibm.io.async.AsyncTimeoutException(Async operation timed
    out, [Timeout, rc=0])

    a new connection is established, causing duplicate buffers to be
    created. This eventually causes a high CPU issue.

    *                  6.1 and 7.0 users of Remote Request         *
    * Dispatcher (RRD) and dynamic cache. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unnecessary high CPU utilization when *
    *                      using RRD.                              *

    Analysis of the High CPU shows a thread consuming most of the
    CPU which includes this in its call stack :

    (HttpServiceContextImpl.java:4451(Compiled Code))

    This is caused by the RRD dynacache component sending incorrect
    responses to repeated getpid requests from the same client.

Problem conclusion

  • The RRD dynacache code has been updated to respond correctly
    to getpid requests.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
