Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 * * developers of WS-Security enabled JAX-WS * * applications using SAML. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The KeyStoreConfigImpl class is not * * accessible to Applications. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The SAMLTokenFactory example is incorrectly demonstrating the use of the keyStporeConfigImpl class. The Information Center incorrectly documents the following sample usage: KeyStoreConfig tsc = new KeyStoreConfigImpl( "jceks", "recipient.jceks","storepass", null ); The KeyStoreConfigImpl class is not accessible by application programmers. One or more SAMLTokenFactory methods require a KeyStoreConfig object as input, but there is no public method for creating a KeyStoreConfig object.
Problem conclusion
Two new static methods were added to the SAMLTokenFactory class that will allow an application programmer create a KeyStoreConfig object. - newKeyStoreConfig(String, String, String) will create a new KeyStoreConfig object from a keystore's type, path and password. - newKeyStoreConfig(String) will create a new KeyStoreConfig object from a keystore's reference. The example in the Information Center has been updated to read: KeyStoreConfig tsc = SAMLTokenFactory.newKeyStoreConfig( "jceks", "recipient.jceks","storepass"); The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.19.
