Error description
A JavaServer Pages (JSP) file is getting compiled with a target Software Development Kit (SDK) level of 1.2 instead of 1.5, even after specifying the jdkSourceLevel="15".
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Version * * 6.1 and 7.0 users of JavaServer Pages * * (JSP). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The target SDK level for a compiled * * JSP file is not updated in * * conjunction with the source level * * specified. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the JSP attribute jdkSourceLevel is specified for an application, the JSP files are compiled with the correct source level however the target and compliance levels remain unchanged. For example, if the jdkSourceLevel is set to "15", the JSP is compiled with a source level of 1.5 however the target and compliance levels are set to 1.2.
Problem conclusion
The JSP Container code was modified to set the target and compliance settings to the same value as the source level. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.39 and 7.0.0.19.
