PM32771: WMQ MESSAGES SENT TO NON-EXISTING SERVICE INTERGRATION BUS DESTINATION VIA MQLINK AREN'T FORWARDED TO EXCEPTION DESTINATION

Error description

When messages are sent from an IBM WebSphere MQ queue manager
to a non-existing Service Intergration bus destination through
MQLink, they are not put to the exception destination. As a
result, the following exception is observed by the customer:

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED:  Users of the default messaging provider for *
*                  IBM WebSphere Application Server            *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages being received over the        *
*                      MQLink are not able to be sent to the   *
*                      exception destination when there was    *
*                      a problem sending to the original       *
*                      destination. This issue will only       *
*                      occur when Bus Security is turned on    *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

The messages being sent to the MQLink could experience a
problem, such as destination not found or security access
problems, when trying to forward the message to the intended
destination. In this situation the messages should then be
routed to the exception destination, but a failure in the
security code was stopping the messages being sent to the
exception destination.

Problem conclusion

This APAR solves the problem and allows the message to be sent
to the exception destination when it is able to. The user
will still require security access to send to the exception
destination.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
