APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If Servlet-Caching and Portlet-Fragment-Cache is enabled, the
  serveResource method of a Portlet cannot write binary data to
  the PortletResponse obtained OutputStream.  The data that is
  written is corrupted.  This does not happen if the Writer is
  used to write data.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Binary data written to the output       *
  *                      stream by a portlet is corrupted when   *
  *                      caching is enabled.                     *

  When portlet fragment caching is enabled and a portlet is
  writing binary data to the response's output stream, the data
  may be sent corrupted due to a transformation of the data
  supplied.
  

Problem conclusion

• The print writer enforcement while portlet fragment caching
  is activated was removed. Moreover, the call to
  getOutpuStream() of CacheHttpServletResponseWrapper has been
  delegated to the inner CacheProxyResponse instead of throwing
  an IOException.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
