APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A JAX-RPC webservice client class that is not derived from
    javax.xml.rpc.Service or any of its subclassses can be
    misidentified as a JAX-WS client during DManager migration
    from V61 to  V70. A CWSAD0016W message occurs
    and the application migration fails.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server V6.1 with JAX-RPC clients being      *
    *                  migrated to V7.0.                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JAX-RPC application migration from *
    *                      WebSphere 6.1 to 7.0 might fail with    *
    *                      a CWSAD0016WE error.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fixpack containing this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    The webservices application deployment code could misidentify
    a JAX-RPC client as a JAX-WS client if the client class was
    not assignable from  javax.xml.rpc.Service.

Problem conclusion

  • The webservices application deployment code is modified to
    consider the presence of additional JAX-RPC artifacts when
    determining the type of a webservice client.

    APAR PM38308 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.19 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
