    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SCAClassLoaders are retained in *
    * memory after SCA Applications (BLA) *
    *                      using binding.ws are stopped.           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    After BLA stop the following issues cause the SCA class loaders
    to be retained in memory:

    1) References to SCAClassLoaders are not removed from
    org.eclipse.emf.ecore.impl.EPackageRegistryImpl during stop.

    2) com.ibm.ws.runtime.metadata.MetaData for SCA dynamically
    generated EARs is not removed when the application stops.

    3) org.apache.tuscany.sca.core.invocation.MessageImpl remains
    set on ThreadContext after stop.

    4) JAXBContexts no longer referenced by the application remain
    in the JAXBContextCache pool after stop.

    5) org.apache.tuscany.sca.interfacedef.java.
    jaxwsGeneratedClassLoader retained in JAXBContextCache.

Problem conclusion

  • The Feature Pack for SCA code improved memory clean up so SCA
    ClassLoaders are not retained after applications (BLA) are
    stopped.

    The fix for APAR PM36358 is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 1.0.1.13. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
