Error description
Affer applying the 7.0.0.15 fix pack for Network Deployment edition to Deployment Manager, manual propagation, using the console, fails to remote an IBM HTTP Server webserver collocated with an Appserver and defined as Managed by that node (Managed Remote WebServer). The node sync would work but the local file copy at the remote node to copy the new plugin-cfg.xml to the path defined in IBM HTTP Server httpd.conf did not complete. Note that Automatic plugin propagation completed both tasks, Sync and Copy, sucessfully so the issue is only seen with manual propagation.
Local fix
Rollback 7.0.0.15 fixpack or copy plugin-cfg.xml to IHS manually
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 and V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Manual Plugin propagation stops * * working with fix pack 7.0.0.15. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The manual propagation stops working after putting on fix pack 7.0.0.15.
Problem conclusion
A new custom property (overrideAutoProp true/false) has been introduced to fix the manual propagation. This needs to be set at the JVM for each node. When set to true with Manual propagation, the plugin-cfg.xml will be propagated to both the remote node repository and the remote web server location. When set to false with manual propagation, the plugin-cfg.xml will only propagated to the remote node repository and not the web server location itself. The new property needs to be set to the remote node. Within the Administrative Console, go to the following: System Administration > Node Agents > Java and Process Management / Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Custom Properties Once set for the node, you must syncronize the change to the node. Also, this does require a stop and start of the node for it to take affect. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.21 & 8.0.0.2 .
