APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When installing WebSphere Express and Express Trial on Hpux
  ia64 using GUI mode, the installation will fail.
  
  There will also be an error in the log
  <message>Failed to load bundle com.ibm.ws.check.os.v80.
  Bundle "com.ibm.ws.check.os.v80" does not provide for class
  "IsHpuxAI64" in extension-point
  "com.ibm.cic.common.core.modelSelectorExpression".</message>
  

Local fix

• The user can choose to install the product silently to avoid
  this error.  If the user installs using either IMCL or
  responsefile and specified the feature com.ibm.sdk.6_64bit then
  the installation should succeed.

  There is an error in the install metadata that does not
  correctly lay down the java causing failures during the GUI
  install.
  

Problem conclusion

• Interim fix 8.0.0.0-WS-WASEXPRESS-IFPM40981 installed
  concurrently with 8.0.0.0 will fix the metadata and you will
  be able to install without this error.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.0.0.1. Allowing a direct install to 8.0.0.1 without
  this error.
