APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When users assign data of a sub-type to a base-type using the
    'as' attribute in any of xsl:param, xsl:with-param,
    xsl:variable, xsl:function and xsl:template elements and then
    try to pass the data to a function expecting data of the
    sub-type, an error will occur.
    

Local fix

  • Users can make sure that the type of data they are using matches
     the type specified in the 'as' attribute.

Problem conclusion

  • Code was added to make the type checking less restrictive to
    allow users more flexibility using the 'as' attribute and
    choosing between sub-types and base-types.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
