Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server v7 and v8 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Specifying isDeveloperServer as * * argument during profile creation is * * running applyPerfTuning script with * * Developer propsoverriding the * * properties or features of * * isDeveloperServer thus causing issues * * to those customers who are using * * isDeveloperServer as argument during * * profile creation. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Using APAR PM24251, changes were introduced to run "applyPerfTuning" performance script with developer props when a profile is created using "isDeveloperServer" argument. This caused issues and change in behaviour for customer's who were already using "isDeveloperServer" as it was overriding the properties of isDeveloperServer when used as argument during profile creation.
Problem conclusion
The problem has been addressed by making sure that when only 'isDeveloperServer' is given as argument during profile creation NO Tuning script is run .When both isDeveloper and tuning script are given as arguments then the behaviour would be as mentioned in the Information Center. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.1.0.21 and 8.0.0.2.
