APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The behavior between v7.0 and v8.0 is different.  On v7.0, when
  doing an aplication update from the console (using all fastpath
  defaults), certain files are being replaced.
  
  On v8.0, when doing an application update from the console
  (using all fastpath defaults), these files are NOT being
  replaced (updated).
  
  Examples are web.xml and application.xml
  

Local fix

• Workaround is to uninstall the application then install the new
  version of the application.  Do not use the update option.
  

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The default value for binding during    *
  *                      an update is incorrect, and the value   *
  *                      cannot be changed.                      *

  The console is not setting the correct value for setting
  bindings during an application update and the value the
  customer chose was also being ignored.
  

Problem conclusion

• The console will now pass the selected value for bindings to
  the application management component so they can set the
  bindings correctly during application update.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.0.0.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
