Error description

  • When a SOAP response is returned with a non-200 HTTP status
code, this status code should be put into the java variable
javax.xml.ws.http.response.code so that it can be retrieved by
    the calling application.
    .
This is not being set by WebSphere Application Server.
The property "javax.xml.ws.http.response.code" is used in JAX-WS
handler message contexts (and BindingProvider response context)
to indicate the HTTP status code for the http response. This
property is not being set when HTTP status code is returned.
The javax.xml.ws.http.response.code is always set to
response is successful and the code is in the 200's. Another
property, "transport.http.statusCode" is always set and
contains the correct status code. However this is a property
defined by Axis2. In order to make the value available via a
JAX-WS defined property, the value should be available via
    "javax.xml.ws.http.response.code" in all cases.

being set to the status code returned.

Problem conclusion

  • Corrected the code to locate the non-200 status code and
    update the javax.xml.ws.http.response.code property.
