Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The call to manageprofiles * * -delete/-deleteAll may not delete the * * profile/profiles directories * * completely. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply fix pack 8.0.0.2 * **************************************************************** A call to the manageprofiles script to delete one or all profiles in a Websphere Application Server installation may fail to completely delete the profile/profiles IFS directory structure on an IBM i systems. One known cause is when an application server is stopped, the stopServer.log file that is created under the log directory of the server's profile is owned by the IBM i userProfile that ran the stopServer command. The manageprofiles command is run under the IBM i userProfile QEJBSVR and that userProfile lacks sufficient authorities to delete the stopServer.log files and as a result it and the directories that contain it are not deleted.
Problem conclusion
Code has been corrected so that the directories are properly deleted. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
