Error description
The SDO change summary for a detached DataObject is incorrectly cached
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the SDO API in IBM WebSphere * * Application Server V8.0 and WebSphere * * Process Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SDO change summary for detached * * DataObject incorrectly cached * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the change summary for a DataObject is retrieved, it may be cached to improve performance for future retrievals, even if the change summary is null. If the change summary for a root DataObject d1 is requested, and the DataObject is later set as the child property of another DataObject d2, then d1 should inherit the change summary from d2 - but instead, the original value may be returned. Most commonly, this would result in a null change summary being returned when a non-null change summary is expected.
Problem conclusion
The previous cached change summary will now be relinquished when a root DataObject becomes the child of another DataObject. (This was already handled correctly when moving a non-root DataObject from one parent to another.) The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2.
