Error description

  • For WebSphere Application Server v8.0 on Microsoft Windows
    operating systems, if the installation root directory has a
    space in the path, for example,
    C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer,
    WSDL2Java.bat and Java2WSDL.bat fails to execute with
    following error:
    
    C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\bin> Java2WSDL.bat
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01.logs.ffdc.
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
    Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01.logs.ffdc.
    at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:434)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:646)
    at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:358)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:612)
    Could not find the main class:
    Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01/logs/ffdc/.
    Program will exit.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************

    In WSDL2Java.bat and Java2WSDL.bat scripts, when there is space
    in the WebSphere Application Server installation root path, the
    path needs to be quoted.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem with WSDL2Java.bat and Java2WSDL.bat scripts has
    been fixed so that the correct installation root path will be
    used.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
