    ****************************************************************
    When the administrative listServers command is unable to get
    the node metadata information for a server in a cell
    configuration, it fails with a MetadataNotAvailableException:
    wsadmin>$AdminTask listServers { -serverType
    APPLICATION_SERVER }
    WASX7015E: Exception running command: "$AdminTask listServers {
    -serverType APPLICATION_SERVER }"; exception information:
    com.ibm.websphere.management.cmdframework.CommandException
    com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.MetadataNotAvailableExcep
    tion: specified node name is not valid: null

Problem conclusion

  • To prevent the administrative command listServers
    failing with MetadataNotAvailableException, implemented the
    correct server type filter logic in the command
    implementation.
